Searching for LOCAL bloggers, journalists, free-lancers and more...
January 16, 2013 11:32

KankakeeCounty.com was created with a very simple purpose.  To be here as a tool for the citizens and businesses of Kankakee County.  Understanding the need for a place online where citizens coudl post automobiles and real estate for sale.   This expanded into Classifieds as well as providing the largest resource of Job Listings in one simple place. We provide local advertising for local businesses and free advertising for local charities, non-profits, and other worthy causes.

We are now looking to expand into local information, simple, everyday, important news.  We don't have to worry abotu producing headlines that will sell, or about polarizing stories to stir debates.  We want simple easy to follow and quick to read information about LOCAL events, people, and places.

So we now look to the community for bloggers, writers, and free lancers who woudl be interested in posting information onto our site.   No crazy committments or quotas, just the ability to post when you have the time and desire.

If this is of interest for you we ask you to place contact us by click here.   Just give us your idea or desire and we will be sure to get in touch with you!

Thanks

Enjoy Local Christmas Lights from your PC - K3Lights.com
December 13, 2009 17:22

K3Lights.com, the virtual guide to Kankakee County’s Christmas lights, invites you to join us this holiday season!

K3Lights.com was founded as a blog with a simple purpose.  Bring the best and brightest homes in and around Kankakee County, from your street, to your PC.  It was created in November of 2009 by Shane Saathoff in an effort to bring holiday joy to those who didn’t have the time, the ability, or the means to leave their home during these tough economic times this holiday season.

On December 1st of this year, K3Lights.com went LIVE with their first virtual subdivision tour, the BellAir area in Bourbonnais.  To date we have shot 13 individual tours, including 11 different surrounding townships, plus 8 separate videos, including some of the areas’ musical homes!

In this time, we have traveled over 300 miles of subdivisions, roadways, and interstate to bring you the most decorated homes in Kankakee County.  Thanks to you, K3Lights.com has been able to continue with your adoring support!  K3Lights.com hopes that after visiting our site, in the spirit of the holiday, you will pass it on to family and friends.

We are currently on day 13 in our 25 day series leading up to Christmas Day.

Manteno Oktoberfest and Parade
September 28, 2009 12:33

As soon as the sun went down the floats came out.  Dozens of floats promoting everything from Local Sports Teams and Local Businesss to Politicians.  Each float was lighted and theme which made the parade fun to watch.  A possible highlight of the parade was the "THRILLER" tribute which was put on by the FUSE Salon float.  A cleverly decorated float preceded by 25 "zombies" complete with music and the THRILLER dance routine as made famous by the King of Pop himself.

A brief walk on Main St. delivered food, games, rides, vendors, and live music.  This year was the 12th Annual Oktoberfest which seems to be delivering more excitement every year!
